My Best Teacher

Hello My name is Jephte and I’m going to tell you about my teacher Mr.Barks. I have known Mr. Barks for three years now and he has been my teacher two times.

When I finished year five I moved to room eighteen, its was a year six class. We were so lucky to have a new teacher Mr.Barks at our school.He is very tall and fast and obviously good at teaching.

What I like about Mr.Barks is that he is a good teacher especially at maths. He has heaps of great strategies and even if something is difficult to understand he will explain it until you can get it.

There is this  thing I don't like about my teacher and it is because he talks a lot in class.But besides that I think he is the best teacher I have ever had.

This is my last year in his class i'm gonna miss him when I go collage.

Mr.Barks

My Rugby Game

Jephte:(That's me! “YEEAH BUDDY” I shouted to my brother “Guess what?”
Jonathan: “What?” He whispered quietly.
Jephte: “I'm playing for varsity today!’’
Jonathan: “Ooh cool.’’
Jephte: “Yeah I know aye’’
Jonathan: “So what position are you playing?”
Jephte: “Ummm I’m not sure yet” I answered “But I would like it if I play right winger... Ooh I will talk to you later, I'm going to get ready now.
Jonathan: “Ok good luck” He says with a big smile.
Jephte: “Thanks bro”


So I walked into the bathroom, brushed my teeth, had a shower then I got changed. After that I got my gear ready and packed it in my backpack. I was about to leave because I was in a hurry then my mum came and gave me twelve dollars for my lunch because I didn't have any breakfast. I said bye to my mum and then I took off to Nez’s house. We both attend the same school and he’s in my class. Nez is the one that got me to play for for varsity.


When I arrived at Nez’s place I knocked on the door and Nez was still sleeping but his sister woke him up. Nez woke up and came to the door to say hi.
“Come in” said Nez, I went in and Nez gave me our teams jersey, I already had rugby shorts. Nez had a quick shower, he put his uniform on and we left. The next place we went was at the shops to buy some drinks, lollies, and butter chicken pies mmm.

Next we went to Aidan's house he's also one of our mates so we picked him up then we headed off to our rugby game but Aidan was not playing today.

When we got there we saw Mrs Wild she is a teacher at our school and she helps the rugby team with transport and other things.
“Hello” she shouted with excitement. “Jephte are you playing today?” she asked
“yes” I replied.
“Thats great” she said. “Ok let me introduce you to the team.” When she introduced me to the team I was happy because all my teammates were kind and welcoming. Suddenly the coach, Toni, came and told us our game was not starting for two hours.
“TWO HOURS?” “what are we gonna do for the next two hours?” Nez said,
“We should do some training” Mrs Wild replied.
“Thats a good idea” said Toni. Mrs wild went and got the team some hot chips, it was funny because we were about to have a game. So we ate the chips and we did more training before the other team turned up.
“Yes finally they are here.” “Come in” Toni shouted. He told everyone their positions and I was playing right wing. When I heard my position I jogged on the field nervously because it was my first time to play for varsity.

When we got on the fielD the ref told us the rules for the day. Then they kicked off and the game started. I saw the ball going down as fast as a bullet, caught it and sprinted as fast as I could by the sideline, fended of the first two people off then NEK MINNIT  I was flying because I got hit  by a guy bigger than a mountain. I stood up fast, quickly passed the ball to the center he runned as fast as he could.

“Yo yo over here” shouted Junior the biggest guy in our team. Junior got the ball and he run throw the other team like a huge bulldozer and scored one try for us. We started off good but then we started losing because we were missing a lot of tackles. The first half finished, we had five they had eight.

“Came in team shouted” Toni so we all jogged in and had a little team meeting. Toni told as to work had on our tackles and share the ball. So we went back on the field and it was our kickoff to them. Brand is our captain and also our kicker. He booted the ball and we all chased Nez jumped up and caught it then he passed it to me, I sprinted but then I step out I was so close to getting a runaway try. Everyone in our team started sharing the ball and making their tackles and we even caught up to the other team and went passed it we had twelve and they still had eight. But then they started scoring again and they went passed us.

Unfortunately we did not win the game but we still had heaps of fun and none of us got injured.

My Best Friend Lepa

Have you ever had a bully turn into your best friend?

Well let me tell you about it. Back when I first came to this school I got put into room fifteen, thats when I was in year five a few years ago. There was this boy in my class named Lepa. He was the most annoying person in the class and he always bullied me.

For the first week I went home sad then I talked to my mum about it, she told me what to do when someone tried to bully me. She said I have to tell the teacher straight away. So I did what my mum told me to.

For a while he kept on trying to bully me, but I didn't let him... We were always arguing!.

The year after, we found out that we were in the same class again and this time it was room 18. The ‘Lepa being a bully’ thing continued for a while. I don’t know how it happened but some time  around term three or four things started to change and Lepa and I became friends.


A few months later school broke for the holidays. It was three days into the holidays when I heard a knock on the door can you guess who it was? Lepa Toa!
“Hello Jephte”,
“What's up Lepa” I replied,
“Do you want to came pools with me”? Lepa asked.
“Wait I will go ask my mum”
So I went and asked my mum and she said “Yes”
I got my togs and then my mum gave me some money then me and lepa walked to the bus stop and we caught a bus to Logon Pools.

When we got there we went to the changing rooms to got changed then we ran to the pool and did a couple of big as bombs but we got in trouble from the lifeguard, ah well it was still fun anyway.

I'm happy that me and Lepa are now best friends.

My Challenge

I am sure you can clap one hundred times, I am positive you can jump one hundred times if you had to. I’m really sure you can say your name one hundred times but can you do one hundred pushups?

Do you know anyone who can do one hundred push ups non stop? Well that is my goal to do one hundred push ups. I think this is going to be a tough challenge but it's going to be a good challenge for me because it will help me get stronger.

I decided to train three four times a week for about twenty to thirty minutes. A few weeks ago when I started practicing I use to get up to 20 push ups but now I am up to thirty. By next week I reckon  I’m gonna be able to do 45.

It's not only me that got a challenge it is every one in my classroom. We are all doing different challenges some people are doing skipping, running and other things. My teacher and I are doing the same challenge. We all have to try achieve our challenges before this term ends.

I have a feeling I am going to achieve my goal and I hope that every person in my class is going to achieve their challenges.

Taekwondo

This week I decided to challenge myself to try and found out an event in the olympics that I don't know about and write about it. There were so many events that I didn't know much about but my final decision was Taekwondo.

I did some research to find some facts about this particular sport and this is what I discovered. This sport is a Korean martial art and its also the national sport of South Korea. It's also used by the South Korean military as part of trainings. I was surprised when I herd that. 

It has heaps of moves in it like blocking, kicking, punching and open handed strikes as well as take downs and many more.

This sport is mainly about self defence and its really good for fitness training. Its probably my favourite event in the 2012 olympics.

Its so popular that its seen in movies with Chuck Norris, Jean Claude Van Damme and Tony Jaa as well as many action Hong Kong films.

I just can't wait till the olympics Taekwondo begins its gonna be exciting. Good luck to all the people competing in The 2012 olympics.

Cross Country

This is term 3, and our school cross country is coming up in a few weeks. We don't have that long to practice so that means we have to practice hard. I have a goal to try and achieve and it is to beat Miracle. For me to achieve my goal, I have to do some extra training at home so I can get more fit.



The reason I am doing all of this hard work is so that I can beat Miracle.  Miracle is one of my mates and he's a very good athlete. He has beaten me three years in a row. I am always looking at his back as we cross the finish line. I am not going to let him beat me again!
